The scientific background of ultrasound in regional anaesthesia and pain medicine has been evaluated during the past years resulting in improved regional anaesthetic blocks compared with conventional techniques.

The recent workshop - a project of the Austrian Regional Anaesthesia Group - is designed for advanced users and teaches the techniques of ultrasonographic guidance for regional anaesthetic nerve blocks in a practical and „hands-on“ way and is a preparation for its daily use.

Master Class Workshop - A selected number of participants of the particular workshops will be able to attend a master class workshop in 2010 to obtain competency in teaching “Ultrasonographic Guidance in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy”.
